Spring is in the air, and with Easter's early arrival on March 31, it's a perfect time to create your own one-of-a-kind Easter bonnet, spring fascinator or just a fabulous hat for any occasion.

This hat is an example of the millinery fashions of Marla Cook. She and Lydia Sullivan-Benham will present a hat trimming workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 23 at JRB Art at the Elms, 2810 N Walker. Photo provided.

Oklahoma millinery mavens Marla Deann Cook and Lydia Sullivan-Benham will offer “A Spring Affair,” a hat styling workshop, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at JRB Art at the Elms, 2810 N Walker. Guests at the free event are invited to transform an old hat into a unique spring accessory. Or you can design your own fascinator. Trim will be available for purchase.

The workshop is in conjunction with a pop-up “Millinery Shop” featuring hat designs by various milliners, represented by Cook. The hats in the exhibit are for sale to the public. The Millinery Shop runs through March 31.

Limited space is available at the hat styling workshop. Make reservations at 528-6336.
