HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARBARA AND JUDY

Party: Barbara Watson and Judy Jordan celebrated their 80th birthdays at a cocktail party with 250 of their closest friends and family members. The event was at the Howell Gallery and Linda and Ken Howell were co-hosts. The invitation noted the honorees were “Even More Stunning at 80” and that guests were invited “to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the 40th Birthdays.”

Artwork: Interspersed with the original paintings hanging at the gallery were photographs of the honorees taken during their lifetimes. Bouquets of flowers were everywhere including a picture with “80” created out of flowers.

Guests: Among the people at the party were Holly and Clay Healey, Barbara and Bud Beeler, Lee Thompson, Susie and Lew Meiberger, Myra and Lew Ward, Kaye and Tommy Jones, Kon Keesee, D'Arline McCubbin, Melinda and Paul Cox, Janet and Mark Selvidge, Mary Nichols, Liz Coe, Jeanne Hoffman Smith, Sue and Bill Hood, Dolly and David Flesher, Jennifer Kiersch, DeeLee Smith, Leigh and Shawn Love, Laura and Perry Tirrell.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BERTA FAYE

Birthday luncheon: Berta Faye Rex was honored at a small birthday luncheon at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Hostesses were Jane Harlow, Linda Garrett and B.J. VonNetzer.

Vocal surprise: The honoree is a long-time board member of the Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestra executives Joe Levine, music director; Patrick Alexander, immediate past president, and Eddie Walker, executive director, serenaded her with “Happy Birthday.”

Decor: “Pig” place cards and other pig decorations were used on the tables since she is Arkansas Razorback fan.

Seen: Jo Carol Cameron, Barbara Durrett, Roberta Carter, Dottie Lammerts, Joan Gilmore, Lil Ross, Nancy Ellis, Kirk Hammons and Brenda McDaniel.

M.J.'S NEW HOME

Occasion: M.J. Van Deventer invited friends for a luncheon and a viewing of her new apartment at Lakeview Towers.

Menu: She served assorted quiches, summer garden salad, potato crab casserole and rum cake to two shifts of visitors.

Decor: Sunflower bouquets and other assorted garden flower bouquets were in every room. Her collections of chandeliers, paintings, interior design book and treasures from her travels decorated the small apartment.

ARTISTS PAINT HORSES

Reception: The Exhibit “Horses” was celebrated with an opening reception at JRB Art at the Elms. Featured artists were Joe Andoe, Jean Richardson, Brent Learned and Jennifer Hustis.

Buffet: Ceramic horses by artist Cathy Delisle were on the tables along with such menu items as chili chicken Taquitos and various salsas and grilled peach and chorizo skewers.

INAUGURAL BRUNCH

Event: The Samuel King Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution held an inaugural brunch at the First Presbyterian Chuch, Edmond, honoring Pat Miller McFall, State Regents for Higher Education.

Program: McFall outlined her State Regent's Project which includes the establishment of the Veterans First Fund to benefit the Voluntary Services of the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center.
